One of the rare disorders affecting children today is Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC). This syndrome strikes by inflicting sudden paralysis on one or more limbs of the child, which could continue for a few minutes or hours or sometimes days. It can also affect the mental development, balance and normal movements of the child, with extreme cases featuring symptoms such as seizures, changes in body temperature and excessive sweating. The disorder could also bring about permanent effects on the body such as inability to walk without assistance. The AHC Foundation has been formed by parents to fund and speed up research in the field. But it requires great finances and you can help get them to us.

About the AHC Foundation

AHC Foundation has been formed to primarily identify the genetic reason for this strange and rare disorder. It seeks to do that by focusing on a target group of AHC sufferers and conducting advanced genetic testing on collected DNA. The results will be then used to screen even larger groups of kids with AHC. The third step is to identify the root cause that should hopefully lead to the cure.
