Making Fundraising For High School Students Fun
Making Fundraising For High School Students Fun
Most of high school students nowadays are doing fundraisers. However, these activities may not be always that fun for all of them. This would be so since; sometimes they are forced to sell different items in the community such as wreaths, nuts, citrus fruits, candles, and a whole lot of other stuffs. Because of this, most high school students dreaded this experience and never looked forward to going through it over again in the future. Fundraising for high school students should be a fun thing rather than being something similar to child labor. Fundraisers should motivate students to unite and to exert efforts whole-heartedly rather than exhausting them.
Most of students that are tasked to do fundraisers today are just given products to sell and catalogs that they will be showing their prospective clients. This makes the whole experience a very hard one especially if the students are not yet knowledgeable of the things that they need to do when they go ahead and face their clients. With this given fact, I will be discussing different ways on how teachers or school staff can educate their students on how to do fundraisers. Through these, their students will be able to see the word FUN in fundraisers.
Teach The Students How To Sell Their Products
In here, you can prepare a script for them to read, learn, and rehearse. You can actually do the rehearsals with them. Be sure to do this until they are comfortable with what they are doing. This will give them a good amount of preparation so that they won't be making blank stares when they face their customers. Moreover, this will also boost your sales promotions as well as the overall confidence of your fundraising team.
Reward Your Students For Their Good Efforts
The rewards that you will be giving them can be very simple. Good examples of these would be putting up a list of the best sales personnel during every meeting. Through this, you will be able to promote an atmosphere of competition, which will motivate them to work harder. This will work well especially if your students belong to a varsity team. This will basically work similarly to the sport that they are participating in.
Set Small Goal Points
Make some goals that your students need to accomplish during the course of their fundraising activity and whenever they accomplish one of them, try to prepare a couple of surprise activities that will motivate them to work harder. You can try to contact their parents or guardians so that you can organize a father and son or mother and daughter day out. You can do tons of activities during the celebration such as bowling, eating pizza, watching movies, and other fun related stuff that will take the stress off of your students. Not only will these activities serve as a motivation, but these will also enable your students to realize the importance of setting goals.
