The place where you keep your puppy should be spacious enough so that it can move around and play freely.

Firstly, you have to give a sweet and safe corner to your puppy and a playpen area for the puppy should be placed which will enable you to housebreak it very easily. It is because this breed of dogs doesn't like to go to bathroom. So the place in which you decide to keep the puppy should be free from carpets. In this case, tiled floors are ideal because this will enable you to clean the messes easily.

Shih Tzu teacup puppies are very fond of soft beds. So when the puppy is brought home the very first day itself, it should be provided with a comfortable bed. It should be kept in mind that the corner which you gave to the puppy should not be made as the permanent home for the puppy.

When the puppy is house broken, it should be allowed to run the full house so that it gets used to the place. The playpen should be kept for security so that when it feels the need for the playpen, it should go there.

Besides a comfortable bed, nutritious food, clean drinking water, you should also provide the teacup puppy with toys so that it can play with them and not get bored. But as the toys provide fun to it, in the same way it can be dangerous also. So as an owner you should be very careful in choosing safe toys for your puppy that cannot be torn apart and swallowed by the tiny pet. Examples of safe toys include tennis ball, dog treats etc.

The process of housebreaking for the Shih Tzu puppy takes some time. . So you should give your time and carefully supervise each and every move of the puppy. You should tell it "No" when you see the puppy going to a place where it should not be supposed to go and reward it when it does the right thing.
