Everywhere you go in your life you will be forced to compromise at work you may have to sit in a cubicle or work long hours, while time at the gym or the pub is spent jostling with others. If there is one place immune from this, it is your home and you can, and should, make it a palace tuned precisely to all your own desires. Here are three great things every palace must have.

In this day and age a home entertainment system is a crucial element of a great home. One of these will allow you to relax and watch TV and movies in style and comfort you will need to pick up a great flat-screen TV, a powerful sound system and an excellent couch. It's also worth looking into a games console, like the Playstation 3, which will play DVDs and Blue Ray Videos as well. Finally, be sure to locate your room in a quiet, dark part of your house you don't want anyone disturbing your movies or gaming, not even the sun.

On sunny days it is always nice to get outside and enjoy the sun a palatial deck attached to your house is a great way to do this. Some houses will come with decks, or you can arrange to have one built alternatively you can attempt this task yourself, though be prepared for some hard work. Once your deck is created equip it with some chairs, a table and a great barbeque the barbeque will let you cook up outdoor feasts for friends when they come over. During the winter and inclement weather be sure to cover up your outdoor furniture and equipment, otherwise you may need to replace it every year.

Finally, it is worth getting yourself a great bar after all, who wants to trudge out to the pub on a cold wintry night. You can choose how much you want to invest in this project, but be sure to get a bar itself and a bar stool or two. Next stock up on your favourite drinks and liqueurs don't forget to take into account what your friends like as well. If you love beer, you might also want to consider getting draught beer installed, this is major investment but it's a lot of fun. One thing is for sure, if you install a deck and a bar you won't be able to get rid of your friends.

Life is far too short to live in anything but your dream house, so spend a bit of time kitting it out to perfection. This might involve a home theatre, a deck and a bar, but perhaps not. After all, it's your house and it should be exactly what you want it to be. Just be sure to invest in yourself and your own happiness. If you do this your whole life will be so much better: returning home from a long day at the office is so much better when you're coming back to the perfect home, exactly like you imagined it.
