DiSC:
DiSC is a tool, a method to measure an individual's behavior under specific circumstance or situation. Based on the work of Dr. William Moulton Marston, this quadrant model, where four typical "Personality Attributes" or styles of individuals are observed to gauge various personality traits. All the four quadrants together form one complete observational behavior system.
Every person possesses four typical characteristics, but in varying degrees which forms the core reference of an individual's behavior. They are Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. A high dominance or D score represents individuals who are great problem solvers and assertive by nature. Individuals with high I scores tend to be efficient communicators and active orators. Patience is the hall mark of people with high S scores. They are the individuals who are persistent, coherent, ordered and do not rush at their objectives. Finally, a high conscientious or "C" style reflects a personality who adheres to rules, regulations and structure.
Today, DiSC is recognized universally and practiced by number of entities such as Human Resource companies, large organizations, consultants and sports bodies.
Personality Test:
There are several online personality tests available. These are basically personality enduring patterns of behavior, thought and emotion of individuals. There is no single school of thought as far as personality test is concerned. Personality tests are generally based on the several dynamic traits such as id, ego, and super-ego. The tests attempt to analyze personality in terms of a discrete number of key traits by statistical method and trait analysis. Raymond Cattell one of the leading authors on this subject proposed a theory of 16 personality factors/traits.
Disc Profile:
Based on Marston's Model, DiSC profile offers a self-construed account of habits and behavioral inclinations of individuals.
