Marcus and Joni Lamb founded Daystar Television Network, which is one of the biggest Christian networks today. However, their beginning was really humble. On their show, Celebration, they have talked about how they met and how their relationship began. I would like to share that story with you.

Marcus Lamb traveled as an evangelist after graduating from college. In 1980, he held a revival at the Tremont Avenue Church of God in Greenville, South Carolina. One night he was on stage and saw a beautiful woman sitting toward the back. She had brown hair and the prettiest brown eyes he had ever seen. Marcus asked someone on stage with him who she was, and he was told her name was Joni Trammell. He said he would like to meet Joni Trammell.

After the service, the two were introduced and hit it off well. Joni thought Marcus was too short for her, but it didn't matter too much. They went on a date to Mr. Gatti's pizza in Greenville, and soon began a relationship. Marcus had other revivals scheduled, though, so he had to leave Greenville. The couple began writing letters to each other and Marcus would come see Joni whenever he had free time from his revival schedule.

It was hard for Marcus Lamb to commit to marriage because of his ministry. He wanted to make sure the woman he married was the one God had chosen for him, because he knew she would have to be involved in ministry as well. Joni finally broke up with him because he was taking so long to propose. He eventually realized she was right, and the couple got back together.
