, it's best to try out a few different methods, before you choose the one that is right for you. Some people enjoy meditating alone, while others enjoy combining meditation with a form of exercise like yoga, aerobics, or pilates. Whatever way is the most relaxing way for you to learn meditation, then this is the best way for you to go.

The main goal of meditation is to relax the body and mind, while reconnecting your soul to its spiritual source. When the body relaxes, the mind can relax. In addition the body can rejuvenate and heal itself. Another benefit of meditation is that it is a way to allow yourself to think clearly. You allow yourself to be able to solve problems that you would have trouble solving without a clear mind.

This does not mean they you should save meditation only for times when you're experiencing trouble. If you meditate on a regular basis, then your times of trouble will begin to minimize. You'll easily be able to take care of problems when they arise, and those problems will not become quite so large.

Discovering a deep and meaningful peace, what it truly means to be YOU is another wonderful aspect of meditation. What makes you YOU? Can we even possibly know who we are on our own? With meditation, we can choose to LEARN more about ourselves on a very real, and very personal spiritual level, to actually listen to the beautiful, quiet, and subtle voice of our Creator! Basically, if you are unsure of what God is trying to say, perhaps it's time for ALL of us to quiet our minds and hearts and souls enough to TRULY LISTEN!


If you're a beginner at meditation, the first thing that you want to do is determine whether you'd like to meditate after exercise, or whether you'd like to have a meditation session with no exercise involved. If you'd like to meditate after exercise, you should probably start off with a yoga video or a class. At the end of a yoga session, there's usually a meditation session included.

Bringing you attentions to one place, to help you focus on your meditation without exercise, you may find it helpful to create a chant or mantra. By doing so, your mind is simply relaxed into a state of calmness that helps you to center your thoughts and feelings. Fixing your eyes on a single area or mark on the wall is helpful, too. Looking into the flame of a candle is an especially wonderful technique to focus your attentions on your meditation goals.

The key point is to channel all your attentions away from EVERYTHING else in your life, and allow your mind to relax COMPLETELY. The best way to describe it is to try not to FORCE peace and clarity into your mind. Rather, try to let ALL negative, hectic, chaotic things ESCAPE from your mind, and then the serenity will come in ON IT'S OWN! If you find yourself gaining a deeper and more relaxed mind, body, and spirit, then you are SURELY doing it right! It's TRULY AMAZING how such a simple act, when performed effectively and consistently, will help you to maintain this peace and clarity in ALL your daily activities!
