HOW EXACTLY DO YOU MAKE MONEY

Even though this business model can ultimately be a profitable one, there is a thing or two you should also know about the pay plan. The Melaleuca's compensation plan is a basic 5 x 7 matrix. In other words, you will have 5 slots underneath you to place 5 people that you enroll. Then those 5 people will do the same and so on all the way down through your 7th level. While you can eventually earn income from all 7 levels, it doesn't happen automatically. You have to first enroll a certain amount of customers (& maintain them) in order to earn commission on all 7 levels of your 5 x 7 matrix. While may all sound very technical, rest assured it's all rather typical of mlm or network marketing pay structures...and can truly prove to be lucrative in the long run.

One of the major Melaleuca complaints, however, is that in order to be eligible to receive your commissions check for all of the sales you've successfully made...you have to personally buy Melaleuca products every month, too. If you don't place your product order, you will, in essence, forfeit your commissions. Also, as you (& your downline) start to make more and more sales, you will be required to order larger amounts of Melaleuca product (even if you don't need them) just so you can get your commission checks.

For the record, there's nothing legally or morally wrong with this requirement, it's just the policy of this particular company. And, in spite, of that feature there are many Melaleuca reps who are doing extremely well for themselves and their families financially. Again, it just comes down to what works best for you and yours.

MY OPINION ABOUT MELALEUCA

Melaleuca appears to be a legitimate company with worthwhile home business to consider. It's definitely not a scam in my opinion. The person that chooses Melaleuca home business may, however, have the challenge of convincing people to shop at their Melaleuca store instead of the local grocery store. This is a challenge largely because people are creatures of habit & for many it will be hard to commit to stay away from their grocery store.

Another reason this may a bit of a challenge is because often time the grocery store's products are less expensive. In Melaleuca's defense, however, most of their products are concentrated and therefore tend to last longer than the similar grocery store products.

Also important is knowing exactly what tasks you'll have to perform before you can see the results you're ultimately seeking (ie: financial independence, etc.). As an independent rep for Melaleuca you will more than likely be encouraged to prospect from within your 'warm market'. That's just another way of saying that you'll have to recruit your friends & family to build your business. You may also be expected to host opportunity meeting at your home and even attend hotel meeting & conferences where you'll be expected to bring guests to so that they can see the presentation and hopefully sign them up.

Now, while there's truly nothing at all wrong with any of the business activities described above, it's vital that you consider all of these different things as you assess whether or not Melaleuca & their home business is the right fit for you.
