, that is to say the person consecrated by anointing ritual, performed by a prophet of God. In the Bible, kings Saul and David is anointed by Samuel. This ritual is the origin of those with chrism and the holy bulb coronation of the kings of France. In Greek, the word Christ, whose root means anointed one, translates the Hebrew term mashiah .
The Messiah is the savior whose reign is expected at the end of times by all Abrahamic religions [ref. necessary]. Jesus of Nazareth is considered by Christianity and Islam as the Messiah (although these two religions differ on the nature of Jesus, in fact, for Islam, Jesus is a prophet and messenger of the five largest - Ouli al Azm - and not the son of God, while for Christians it is God creator of all things, see among others, the gospel of John chapter 1.).
