Military In Saint Vincent And The Grenadines And Alba Military School
The people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have suffered from lack of safety
over the past nine years and by the term safety I do not only mean crime! Crime is no doubt one aspect that affects safety and over the past few years the crime rate in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have increased radically, thanks to the growing marijuana production, drug trade and the lack of attentiveness from the police authority and the ULP government. But there is one major area where the safety and security of the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has been compromised- can you guess it? Let me go ahead and give you some hint! What is the one thing that every country ought to have in order to stay secured from attack? You guessed it right- a military, something which our country lacks badly.
A country without a military is unthinkable and yet, owing to the shortsightedness of the Unity Labour Party and
Ralph Gonsalves , we do not have it! God forbid, if any day we are attacked by a more powerful country, what is our chance of survival? Will we be able to combat? And even if we do not have an attack on us it is always better to have a military of a country. Thankfully, there is good news for all the rational people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. According to a recent report, the ALBA Military School is roughly complete. The launch of the school will take place sometime early in the year 2011. The funds for the school have come from the member nations of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA). The member countries of the ALBA include countries like Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Cuba, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and many more.
This school will be quite useful in offering military training as well as support to the countries of this union so that they can be able to defend themselves from internal as well as external aggression. The school will mean a great deal for countries like Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This military framework in the country is mostly shattered because of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, who might have taken the safety and integrity of the country very lightly.
This military school will be something that young Vincentians will look up to when they want to join the army and fight for the country. And this country does require such individuals in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines now. However, their threat is more internal than external as they will have to protect this country from the enemies such as their Prime Minister Ralph. Unless such corrupt politicians as well as statesmen are abolished, the progress of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is going to hamper. In a couple of days, the Vincentians are going to have a chance to choose a new leader for their country. Hopefully this time the country will choose well!
