The motivation for most people seeking mining jobs with no experience is MONEY. I spent 5 years on the diamond mines of Namibia and although I had no mining experience I had just qualified as a Fitter and Turner and managed to secure a job with CDM, Consolidated Diamond Mines. If there is one place you can most certainly make money, it is on the mines, I cannot endorse it enough.

That was my first job as a qualified tradesman and it really set me up well, I managed to save for a deposit on my first house, renovated the main parts of the house and did some landscaping, bought my first car cash and achieved some other financial goals. From purely a financial aspect, it will no doubt be a big financial boost securing mining jobs with no experience.

I am currently involved in Apprentice Training in Auckland and can only encourage any person seeking a mining job with no experience, to consider getting an apprenticeship or trainee-ship in the mines once they've got their foot in the door. Even apprentices and trainees earn very good money there and at least you will get a qualification after a few years.

Australia is still the place for mining jobs even with no experience, despite the recession, things may be a little more competitive but jobs are always becoming available. The reason there is such a high turnover of mining jobs is that, your use by date comes very quickly in the mining industry. The jobs are usually in remote places with accommodation provided and possibly a fly in fly out arrangement. It is NOT for everyone, please realise this.

Do not get me wrong I endorse mining jobs as it is a very viable way to make some good money but very few people can make it a long term arrangement. The hours can be long, the temperatures can really get up there and the repetition and routine of life can be overwhelming. Mining jobs is all about money with or without no experience.

I encourage you to go and work on the mines because it certainly will give you good money, however, I also encourage you to use whatever spare time you may have while working on the mines in investing in learning how to make money another way, so that when your use by date doing mining jobs comes, you will have learned a whole new strategy to make money. This is what I would of done as there can be precious little to do after work. Mining jobs is about money and work, I like the money part, work part perhaps debatable.
