An auto parts salvaging yard is used to store and scrap cars that are old
, damaged and/or irreparable. These places will take these unused automobiles and place them in neatly arranged rows for greater efficiency. Machines are generally used to flatten or crush these vehicles for better storage. In the case where there are working parts left on the car being scrapped these parts may be removed for resale. In modern times cars that are scrapped are inventoried on a computer to improve the detection and organization of these scrapped vehicles.The parts that are removed include the most accessible ones including the headlights, mirrors, tail lights, blinkers among others. If these are in decent condition then they may be resold. Some older cars are kept in good working condition to satisfy classic car hobbyists. Because these older car parts are many times no longer manufactured, salvage yards may make a decent profit from the sale of these rare parts.
