Moms: Are You Letting Education Pass You By?

The economy may be in a slump, but its still smart to invest in your future

. This is especially true for working, single and stay at home moms. It's important not to pass up educational opportunities like grants. They could be the first step to becoming part of a popular industry.

Jobs in many technology-related areas will be in high demand for years. So many of our daily tasks are made possible by digital, wireless and other technology. It takes many people to develop these products as well as to help people use them. According to some estimates, there will be increased demand for computer software engineers. Analysts for network systems and data communications are also expected to be important careers.

Health and medicine is another job area that is always in high demand. The careers in healthcare are much more varied than the traditional jobs with which people are familiar. It may be an unexpected projection, but veterinary medicine may also be in high demand. There are many fields that don't require a medical degree but rather specialized training are specific coursework.

Job growth and opportunity is lagging now, but expectations for the future are high. A number of industries and service areas could see growth in the rebounding economy. There is at least one similarity among all this professions: education. There are many programs available for people willing to learn, especially for moms. Hopefully more mothers can earn the bachelors, associates and specialized degrees that are needed to fill important positions in the work force.

Women have plenty of responsibility for caring for children and families, and hopefully the grants for moms can take some of the burden off trying to get an education.
