Motivation Advice - Two Major Keys To Getting And Staying Motivated
Memory
Memory
One key part of motivation is your memory. Rather than dwelling on failures, simply replay your past victories over and over again in your mind. Recall as many past successes as you can. Whenever I get down or frustrated by setbacks I calm and center myself by recollecting visions of my successful achievements.
This exercise will do wonders for your confidence and your ability to bounce back after disappointments. Thinking about past successes when facing new challenges also dissipates nervousness and eliminates procrastination. You simply say to yourself, "I've done it before, so I know I can do it again." After a little self encouragement you'll find it easier to get on with the task at hand and get it done.
Words
On some days it is hard to get out of bed much less tackle a set of goals that you are aiming for. At times like these you need to have good self talk. That is where positive affirmations come in. Affirmations can motivate you when you are feeling discouraged.. Motivational affirmations will also help you to stay on track.
Positive affirmations are simply statements of what you want. However, they should be worded in the present tense. These statements should affirm what you believe you will have. You should your affirmations throughout the day. As you do so say them with emotion, acting as if what you want is already yours. Some good examples affirmation statements are:
I am wealthy and I make great decisions which make me richer.
I am a winner and I enjoy hitting my goals.
I am action oriented and I am taking a proactive approach towards accomplishing my goals.
If you have statements which fire you up when you say them then you have a powerful set of assets. Use them to pick yourself up at any time of the day, regardless of what is going on around you. If you say to yourself, "I am so happy to be in process of accomplishing my dream of owning a brand new convertible sports car" while you are working overtime to save up the down payment for it then you will be motivated.
Use motivational affirmations all throughout the day, but use them especially when you are in difficult circumstances. That way you'll be able to stay enthusiastic and persistently press towards your goals.
Search for motivational affirmations that speak to you. Whether you write them yourself or use others that have already been created, find statements that connect with you emotionally. Think about your goals as already achieved. Record statements of what it will feel like when you experience these accomplishments. And then turn these thoughts into positive, present tense statements. The secret to staying motivated lies in your ability to keep yourself mentally focused on what you want. Do this by maintaining a positive mental attitude with affirmations.
