Motorola Milestone 2 - An Effective Web Browsing Phone by:Chris Westley
The Motorola Milestone 2 is a newly updated version of the original Milestone
. Improvements on its predecessor include a 1 GHz processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo) and a generous 8 GB of internal storage.
The winning combination of a touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard provides the best of both worlds, allowing easy, intuitive navigation of the user interface, and efficient and speedy text entry. The handset itself measures 116.3x 60.5x 13.7mm which is impressive for a handset which has a separate keyboard unit, and it is very lightweight at just 169 grams.
The TFT capacitive touchscreen measures 3.7 inches, and provides the ability to display up to 16M colours within a pixel resolution of 480x 854 pixels. This means the Motorola Milestone 2 is great for displaying photos and video footage. The slide out QWERTY keyboard is ideal for those who like to send a lot of text messages, emails, or spend a lot of time surfing the internet. The screen includes features such as accelerometer and proximity sensors, multi touch input method, and Swype text input.
Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages via both vibration and ringing with the added bonus of assigning MP3 and WAV files as ringtones, allowing users to hear the song of their choice whenever the phone rings.
As mentioned, a generous 8 GB of internal storage is provided as standard, which is ample to store a good amount of files such as music tracks or video clips. An additional 8 GB is also provided in the form of a pre-installed memory card within the micro SD card slot. This can be replaced with a card of up to 32 GB, allowing the potential to provide a large amount of data.
Browsing the internet is a fast and enjoyable experience with the Motorola Milestone 2. Thanks to the 1 GHz processor, web pages load in a flash, with HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections offering fast browsing speeds. GPRS and EDGE provide the handset with its connection to cellular networks, and Bluetooth and micro USB allow connectivity to compatible hardware devices.
The built in 5 megapixel digital camera is a versatile and easy to use tool which is therefore ideal both for those who like to simply take spontaneous snapshots, and those who like to tweak and edit their images. Features of the camera include autofocus, dual LED flash, image stabilization and geo-tagging. Of course, the camera can also shoot video, and this is in 720p HD at a rate of 30 frames per second.
The Motorola Milestone 2 is a highly versatile smartphone which makes use of powerful software and innovative hardware. Therefore it is worth a closer look when choosing a new smartphone.
