Moving Overseas The Key To New Beginnings

Sometimes you have to follow you dreams; if you dream of living in a warmer climate

, looking for a new profession or are looking to retire abroad then you will need to make a plan of action for moving overseas.

When it came to me, I was personally looking at a change of profession, moving overseas was just a consequence of taking that new position and it turned out to be one of the best things that I have ever done.

I managed to acquire a job with an English speaking company, which basically meant that my transition to the new country would be made slightly easier. However, I was still inadequately planned for the journey ahead and I have my friends and family to thank for their assistance in preparing me for the amazing ride that I was about to go on.

There are a number of factors to take into consideration when moving overseas including adapting to the local language and culture, the change in food and the general social changes. Living in a Mediterranean country I quickly learn that meal times were much more of a social affair, it also took place much later in the evening.

Another factor that I had to readapt to moving overseas was the fact that many countries haven't adapted the smoking policy that has been enforced in the UK, it wasn't such a problem for me, but it may prove difficult for other people who look to retire abroad or who have adapted to the law of the UK.

One thing that I found out quickly after moving was the difference in cultures, I moved to Italy and although the way of life out there was more relax and laid back, there was a professionalism and almost perfectionist attitude in everything that they done. The food, drink, the hospitality was exquisite.

Obviously I had it fairly easy moving from the UK to Italy but there were a number of other individuals who moved over from America who had even more of an arduous journey, they had to transport heavy goods in crates as there were no tunnels or ferry's that they could just jump on.

Sometimes you have to take a chance in life, if you do it rewards you, there are no guarantees and we never know what life holds for us tomorrow, but at the same time we need to take every opportunity that is presented to us, moving overseas is a risk, but maybe just maybe it might be a risk that you will want to take and you never know it could change your whole life.
