What is a wet & dry vac ? Sometimes also called a shop vac, it is just what it sounds like a vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust, debris and liquids from most surfaces. It is not a carpet-shampooing device and will not apply shampoo to a carpet. However, it will help to dry a wet carpet.
It differs from the ordinary cleaner in design. A little simpler wet dry vacuum simply has a tub instead of a bag to hold the dust. The tub is generally on wheels. The dust and the wet mess is sucked through the hose and deposited into the tub, which can be emptied by simply removing the motor and vacuum from the top.
Wet and dry vac is generally not meant for cleaning the floor of the entire house. It usually lacks the necessary attachments required for the diversity of household jobs. But its strength lies in its ability to suck up a variety of things, which makes it particularly handy for an office. Since the vacuumed debris are simply dripped into the tub and do not go through a complicated pathway, almost anything can be cleaned with a wet & dry vac. Its heavy-duty engines are unaffected by the large amounts of water travelling through the vacuum.
Such vacuum cleaners are also used for industrial cleaning. Many professional cleaners include a wet and dry vac in their tools for their ability to pick up almost anything. Contractors and builders too often use wet & dry vac to clean up their mess after their work is done.
