My Laptop is running Slow Our Computers are a Serious Business

Computers go through a lot of things when you use them. Because of the heat, some components are damaged. Because of malwares, viruses, worms and spyware, they can either have a corrupted system, damaged hardware, inefficient power usage and other undesirable effects. When my laptop is running slow, there are many things I can do to make it run faster. There are also lots of ways to take care of your computer and those are the things you will be seeing in this article.

First of all, you shouldn't install software's you won't be using. This is a point most people fail to realize. When you install a software, a lot of things happen. There are some files added to the hard drive and registry. This is fine as long as you really need that particular program, but what if you don't? Then you won't be telling yourself again and again that "my laptop is running slow". This programs takes up space and consumes resources which can be used for other programs that are really necessary.

Shutting down properly is very vital to any computer. The shutdown option is there for a reason. You cannot simply turn off the power because there are programs running which are writing something which can be interrupted when the machine isn't powered off properly. This situation can corrupt your system and cause it to malfunction when that particular part is needed. There are some instances of the hard drive getting some bad sectors because of this. There is a risk that the hands of the reader of the hard drive will knock against it thus causing the bad sectors.

Defragmenting is also important to keep your computer in good shape. Defragmenting will group related files together thus making it easier for the computer to find the needed file. The only problem when defragmenting is the power supply. If the electricity was suddenly cut off while you are defragmenting, there is a big possibility that your windows installation is already ruined thus you have to install the operating system from scratch. This is very irritating especially if you don't have two partitions because your files will be erased as well.

Cleaning your hardware is also important. A lot of computers get damaged when the hardware is dirty. Dust is really common inside computers especially desktops. When the motherboard is covered with dust, cooling becomes quite difficult thus giving the computer chances to overheat. Unlike vehicles, when a computer overheats, most of the time, it becomes useless. When that happens, there is nothing you can do, but to buy new hardware and salvage anything than can be salvaged out of your old system.

Antivirus programs are a must nowadays because of the growing threat of malicious programs. There are many free antivirus available in the internet, you can easily download one if you need it. Spywares on the other hand can be a threat not only to the computer, but to the user himself/herself. Spywares can steal valuable data so we should always be aware.
