My Last Router Sucked. Now I Own A New Asus Rt-n56u.

Well, I just bought the new ASUS RT-N56U Black Diamond and I am very happy with it

, in fact I love it. My older wifi router (TP Link) really sucked and I was routinely having troubles with it.

We eventually got fed up with resetting my previous wireless router and decided enough is enough. I hate it when the internet just stops working whenever I'm right in the middle of something.My older wireless router did not have integrated gigabit switch ports.Actually it didnt have a lot of features that the ASUS RT-N56U provides or the nice design. It was also getting kind of lame to look at and the Asus Black Diamond is really cool looking. Especially in the dark. Just like something Darth Vader might own! I'm definitely glad I got rid of that old wireless router and replaced it with the Asus Black Diamond.

Features of the RT-N56U:

The ASUS Black Diamond RT N56U Wireless Router comes with a lot of awesome features which are not easily available in market. This will make it difficult to do a feature by feature comparison.I must say I like its interesting design, its dual-band support designed for a lag free gaming environment.It has Gigabit internal switching capability, it's good wifi coverage and easy management and built in 4 port Ethernet switch which happens to be good for gaming. It's also possible to print and share files to the Asus "Black Diamond" since it has dual multi-funtion USB ports.

Here is a basic product description of the RT-N56U:

Dual bands. Each capable of 300Mbps. It has Five internal radios intended for strong signal strength and reception combined with dual bands which support 300Mbs each.

One wifi band is on the 5Ghz band and the other on the 2.4 Ghz band. This prevents the different types of network traffic at home from interfering with each other. Four Gigabit switch ports to keep the router from being a bottleneck on your 300Mbps WLAN. The web user interface is extremely user-friendly and intuitive to use.

My Personal Impressions Thus Far:

Well, after about a thirty day period the router is still humming along and doing everything I ask of it. I'm in love with the user interface. I'm thinking about buying new wifi devices so that I can play with it some more.

Pros:

The look is sleek and the signal is strong. Fast Gigabit Ethernet ports and the USB ports are very configurable to do almost anything.

Disadvantages:

I've heard this wireless router has a problem with some iPods if you don't know how to configure it right, but if you're a bit of a geek as I am you might be able to figure it out.

Final result:

We've had 3 different wireless routers before the ASUS RT N56U. The Asus Black Diamond is by far the best wireless router That I have ever owned. It is ideal for home and office environments when you need to have a high availability and lag free environment specifically for video gaming and watching high definition movies on the internet is required. You should also be pleasantly suprised to find that as great as this wireless router is it is in fact cheaper than most of the "bigger name" wireless routers to choose from.

Along with the routers good performance it also sports a dazzling, almost sexy look. With the addition of Hardware NAT Acceleration and "Ai Radar" it can cover extra range and also get into all of the little "nooks and crannies" in your home. I don't get why other wireless routers never thought about two USB ports. It's just a very useful feature!
