Ncaa Basketball Tickets - A-10 Rundown
The college football season is in full swing, so most college sports fans are still
very much interested in their teams' chances of making one of the BCS bowl games. Even sports fans from mid-major conferences are into their fantasy football team's week-to-week drama. However, college hoops season is just around the corner, so if you want to be up-to-date by the first tipoff, you're going to have to start studying now. We've put together a little rundown of the major storylines coming out of the Atlantic-10 Conference. This is a league that could see multiple teams enter the NCAA Tournament this season. If you're interested in seeing any of the A-10 teams this year, search today for available NCAA basketball tickets. Here are some of the key points from the A-10.
Xavier and Dayton: Staying at the Top - It appears as though the old guard hasn't slowed down much. Xavier went to the Sweet Sixteen last season and Dayton lost to Kansas in the second round. Xavier and Dayton finished one-two in the conference standings, and that's where many college basketball expects think they'll finish once again. Dayton has Chris Wright and most of the starting five back from last year, and it would not be a big surprise to see the Flyers break into the AP Poll's Top 15 teams at one point or another if they can get some early-season wins. There were some big changes at Xavier (the coaching change from Sean Miller to Chris Mack is the biggest), but some things remain the same. Xavier also returns several of their key players, and everyone's anxious to see how freshman forward Jeff Robinson contributes down low.
Richmond and La Salle: Moving up the Ladder - If you want to pick a couple of sleepers in the A-10, you ought to go with Richmond and LaSalle. Neither Richmond nor La Salle went to the NCAA Tournament or the NIT last year, but both had winning records and showed some promise. They're a team with upside to spare and guards who are ready to break out for big seasons. With a few added playmakers on both squads, these two teams could wind up in the AP Top 25 before too long. Don't count out these mid-majors from a possible tourney run if they can secure the A-10 title from Dayton or Xavier.
UMass: Loaded with Frosh - One surefire way to get preseason hoops buzz going is to sack your team with inexperienced but highly-ranked freshmen. The Minutemen will get plenty of minutes out of their freshmen, including exciting rookies like forwards Raphael Putney and Terrell Vinson. Of course, leaning on underclassmen is risky, because you never know what they'll produce right away. However, if coach Derek Kellog can get the team to gel at some point before the conference schedule, look out for U-Mass.
So there you have it, the best storylines from around the Atlantic-10 Conference. Will this team produce three NCAA Tournament teams? Will Dayton or Xavier be upended by the time the season comes to a close? You'll have to keep a close eye on this team all throughout the season, so try to get tickets to a few A-10 games.
