If there ever is a discussion about where the top basketball is played

, the answer is, hands down, the National Basketball Association (NBA). Many might argue that this is an American opinion because the NBA is based in the States but there is no comparison, the NBA rules. Prove it to me, you might respond.

Lets start with the best players in the world play in the NBA. Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Shaquille ONeil, and Dwayne Wade are, without doubt, the top basketball players in the world; there really is no one in the world who can match up with them.

Looking at the rosters of each NBA team, even the bottom teams in the league, there is not a team in the world that can compare with any of these teams.

Now consider the foreign players. In 2008, there were 75 international players from 30 countries playing in the NBA. Clearly, the best foreign players are now joining the ranks making the top basketball league even stronger.

Assuming that the highest salaries draw the greatest players, then the NBA will have the best players. The superstars have multi million dollar contracts but the bottom level players make only the NBA minimum salary, a few hundred thousand per year. However, the average salary is 2.5 million dollars a year which blows away the salaries of other leagues. If money talks, then it is screaming that the NBA has the best players who play the top basketball in the world.

The NBA has the best talent level in the world and they also play the top basketball of competition in the world. Therefore, is the best players in the world are playing against each other night after night, then by playing against the best, their skill level will only increase to a much higher level.
