Ncaa Football Tickets - Bowl Predictions
There's still at least one more week left in the regular college football season
, and for many teams out there conference championship games await as well. So it's about time we started thinking about bowl games. Which teams will go to what bowls? Trying to figure out what college football teams will attend which bowl games is an annual tradition that for some is fun-like a game of musical chairs-and for others is tedium and anxiety-like a game of spin the bottle.
Even though there are still many things up in the air at this point, Nov. 22, 2009, we'll try to make some bowl game predictions. If you are interested in attending any of the awesome bowl games out there this season, make sure you check out the NCAA football tickets online, because even if the games sell out you can still get tickets on the web.
BCS Title Game - The five BCS Bowls, the BCS National Championship Game (held this season at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 7), the Rose Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl and the Sugar Bowl, will perhaps be the most important bowl games out there this year, as they typically feature the best 10 teams in the nation (although arguments still persist). In the BCS National Championship Game, most people have Florida beating Texas. However, if you want to make some real cash on a futures bet, you might want to put money on Alabama before the Crimson Tide play the Gators in the SEC Title Game. It's a long shot on paper, but Tide fans know their boys can "roll" all the way to the championship.
The Las Vegas Bowl - Vegas is a great place to attend a college football bowl game, and a perfect excuse to put a little money where your mouth has been all season long. This year the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas takes to Sam Boyd Stadium in the City of Sin on Dec. 22. The Las Vegas Bowl has Pac-10 and Mountain West tie-ins. The Pac-10 will send one team to the Rose Bowl and possibly another three or four to other bowls around the nation.
The Mountain West will likely send an undefeated TCU to one of the BCS Bowls. So we're looking at teams like Utah or BYU going coming from the WAC and Oregon State, Stanford, Cal or USC from the Pac-10. We're going to go with Oregon State over BYU in this one, despite the fact that BYU is familiar with Vegas Bowl games, due to their recent history.
The San Diego Bowls - Sunny San Diego, America's Finest City, will host two of the finest bowls this year, the Holiday Bowl and the Poinsettia Bowl. The Poinsettia Bowl is a lot like the Las Vegas Bowl in that it has Mountain West and Pac-10 tie-ins, so we're likely to see teams like Utah or BYU from the MWC and Arizona, USC or UCLA from the Pac-10. Because they'd be the hometown team, we're going to go with USC over Utah in this one.
The Holiday Bowl has Pac-10 and Big 12 tie-ins, so we're likely to see either USC or Arizona from the Pac-10 and Nebraska, Missouri or Texas Tech from the Big 12. Again, the Western team might have the advantage here, but since Nebraska is on a real hot streak currently, we'll take the Huskers over the Arizona Wildcats in an overtime thriller in the Holiday Bowl.
