Ncaa Football Tickets - Teams Featuring New Starting Qbs

Soon, the 2012-2013 NCAA Football season will start and everyone is hoping that with

their teams will be competitive once again - even with programs losing many players to the NFL. One of the most important and most prominent positions on any football team is the quarterback position. Unfortunately for some NCAA football teams, they saw their starting quarterbacks leave and had to move quickly to replace them. The offseason was spent scouring the NCAA, and often within their own squads, for teams to find the best replacements possible. Only two NCAA teams have announced their starting quarterbacks for the upcoming season while a few others are still up in the air as to who will take the reins. NCAA football tickets are sure to sell well when teams make their final decisions.

Oklahoma State - Wes Lunt:

Oklahoma State made their decision well-known to the public in April, as they chose Wes Lunt to head their team into the new season. Lunt is an early-enrollee freshman and is coming in to replace Brandon Weeden, one of the NCAA's oldest quarterbacks. Lunt is so good, in fact, that he beat out two other players for the prestigious role of starting quarterback: J.W. Walsh and Clint Chelf. Although the decision is made by the coach, it is up to the players to give it their all and show the coaches why they should be the one selected.

At some point, although all three quarterbacks played well, Lunt surpassed the other two options in skill and ability. Lunt is rated a 4-star player and led his school, Rochester High School, to a couple of state titles. In the scrimmage, Lunt had two touchdowns and had 15 of 23 passes for 215 yards. His arm strength and height are really what pushed him to the number one spot.

Penn State - Matt McGloin:

Penn State has a new coach in Bill O'Brien and he was quick to make his decision about who is going to start this upcoming season. McGloin also beat out two other great options in Paul Jones and Rob Bolden. Although he has been inconsistent when it comes to accuracy, he has started in 10 games in the last two seasons. But the former New England Patriots' offensive coordinator wanted to eliminate a quarterback competition and silence talks of that happening by selecting a quarterback as soon as possible - which is why he did. McGloin was the most consistent in the spring according to Coach O'Brien, and thus the reason he was selected.

Teams Still Up in the Air:

SMU has yet to make a decision about their starting quarterback, but it looks like Garret Gilbert, former Florida signal-caller, will be taking that position. Tulsa also has their eye on Cody Green, formerly of Nebraska. Central Florida is also having a tough time trying to find the best person for the job, though Tyler Gabbert of Missouri is the mix currently and is looking strong.

There is still some time to make final decisions, but quarterback competitions are starting to heat up.
