Need An Energy Boost
Are you finding yourself tired when you still have a lot to do
? You realize you just need a boost of energy to get you through the rest of the day. Well you probably have seen them everywhere they are energy drinks. They have become very popular in today's busy society, however some energy drinks are not healthy for you with adverse side effects. It is important to find a beverage that not only provides energy needed throughout the day, but gives the body great benefits as well.
What makes some energy beverages harmful? Popular energy drinks on the market today, have different amounts of caffeine in them, and most of them are not considered healthy. Just because they are powerful, does not always mean they are good for you. With large amounts of sugar and caffeine, energy drinks stimulate and generate reactions towards the body that can boost blood pressure and heart rates, which can be dangerous for some. The boost of energy can often prevent sleep if taken to close to bed time, and dehydrate your body, which is not what was intended when drinking an energy beverage.
Do you care what you put in your body? Most energy drinks contain mostly caffeine. It is the most common ingredient, which acts as a stimulant. However most individuals don't realize that it contains a higher level of caffeine than any soda or coffee, this is why individuals have reactions to the drink. Another common ingredient is Taurine, which is naturally produced by the body. It naturally helps produce energy levels throughout the body. Most often our bodies make enough of Taurine that you don't need to add any extra to your body. Next, is L Carnitine, which is also naturally produced by the body and helps boost the metabolism and energy levels. This is often why it is added to energy drinks. The liver and kidneys form L Carnitine. The unpleasant thing about adding this into beverages is that some individuals use this ingredient for support of their heart, so to much can speed up the heart rate, which can be very dangerous. Last but not least of ingredients to watch for is the amount of sugar. We all know that large amounts of sugar are not good for our health. It gives the body a boost of energy for a short period of time then the body crashes. Also large amounts of sugar can add unwanted pounds to your body.
The next time you need a boost of energy and reach for an energy beverage, be sure to read the label and see if the ingredients are something you want to put into your body. There are several good products on the market that can give you that boost you need, in a healthy way. Bottom line is, make smart choices when it comes to your health and body!
