Network Marketing Works And Here's How

There are over 13 million people involved in network marketing (also called multilevel marketing or MLM) at this very moment

. For some, network marketing is a failure. But for others, network marketing works to pull them out of the daily 9 to 5 grind, working all day so that someone else can reap the financial rewards. In an MLM business, you become the business owner and when others work "for" you, they are actually growing their own business.

Network marketing is a business model that can be classified as micro franchising. For a small sum of money, an individual joins a network marketing company as an independent contractor, or distributor. For their buy-in they receive a startup kit and you can usually purchase products to keep in your inventory. They start out by studying the products and learning sales techniques. They then grow their own business by selling the products directly to consumers though various means, either in person, online, or a combination of both. Once that distributor builds a customer base and becomes adept at selling, they add a downline to their business.

A downline is created by recruiting other people to come into the business. The distributor gets a commission based on the sales of the people in his downline. As those people work to recruit others into the business, he gets even more bonuses, based on his recruits' downlines. As the network expands and recruits train other recruits and so on down the line, our original distributor's paycheck expands.

Many people think network marketing and MLM companies are a scam or a pyramid scheme. They believe this because the structure of the company is pyramid in shape, but reputable MLM companies are hardly scams. They require a small up-front buy in for supplies and training, and then the experience is what you make of it.

It can take three to five years to be successful in the network marketing world and it takes work every single day. MLM coaches say it can take 5 to 20 hours per day, five days a week (or more) to build a successful network.

Many people try this business and fail, most within their first six months. It is important to note that network marketing works for those who do the work.

There is selling involved. There is a lot of rejection involved. It takes a lot of man hours to build your business and be successful, but those willing to roll up their sleeves and buckle down for a few years, usually reach their financial goals.
