Never Be Inconsiderate To Non Smokers When Using Your Electric Cigarette

Most people who are using an electronic cigarette are doing so because of their belief

that it is a much better way for them to be able to get their nicotine than by smoking tobacco. Tobacco smokers have been ostracized in polite society from smoking tobacco in public in most places. This is, of course, because tobacco smoke is carcinogenic and is very harmful to others that might be near a smoker. Absolutely no one can blame non smokers for not wanting to be subjected to the smoke from cigarettes when they do not even smoke themselves. It took a long time for non smokers to gain the right to not have to be subjected to cigarette smoke in public places and they are not likely to give that up without a fight.

Even though many researchers believe that there can be virtually no harm to bystanders that are near someone using an electric cigarette, the notion that anything that even looks like smoke is hazardous to them is still ingrained in the minds of non smokers. They do not yet trust the vapor that is produced by the e cigarette and are not likely to be accepting of them being used in public for a while yet. E cigarette users must be patient with non smokers and allow them time to become accustomed to the device and wait until conclusive research has been submitted proving that the vapor is harmless to them.

After the way that tobacco smokers have been made to feel in recent years, like they are pariahs of some kind, it might be tempting for them to flaunt their e cigarettes in public and brag about the fact that they are not smoking, but vaping instead. This would be the surest way to stir up some ugly confrontations with non smokers. It is much better to give the public at large time to become more accepting of the device and feel comfortable with it being used around them. By all means if you are able to use your e cigarette without any confrontations with anyone else, it is fine to do so, but if you are asked not to use it in a place where smoking is banned, for the time being it might be better for everyone if you do not use it there.

Given time and a little more research, the electric cigarette may very well be accepted in most places before too long. In the meantime it is important for users of the device to continue to be considerate to others that might not want it used around them just yet. Smokers have been this long without being able to smoke tobacco in public places, so it should not be that difficult to be considerate to non smokers for just a little longer until all the research is in. In the meantime, use your e cigarette in the places where you know you are permitted to and just be grateful that you have found a better way to have your nicotine than by burning toxic tobacco.
