New Orleans Tickets - Winter Heats Up In The Big Easy

Mardi Gras might have a competitor when it comes to New Orleans attractions this year

, and city dwellers won't have to wait for March to celebrate all the Big Easy has to offer. This winter, things are heating up in New Orleans, and we're not just talking the French Quarter. With sports matchups, bowl games and blowouts galore, Louisianans as well as visitors from all over the country are scrambling to get New Orleans tickets to the smattering of events that the city will soon be hosting!

Football season is always a huge crowd-pleaser in New Orleans and this year is no different, especially with the way the Saints have come marching in this season. The Saints have been selling out seats in the Superdome thanks to Drew Brees at the helm, and the quarterback's rocket arm has helped lead the team to a near-perfect year going into the second half of the regular season.

Football fanatics in town for the Dec. 27 New Orleans Saints-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game can cheer on the home team with New Orleans Saints tickets to the big matchup, and the Saints are anxiously awaiting the chance to play NFC South rivals the Bucs this December to secure their place on top of the division.

This winter is sure to be especially exciting in New Orleans, and not just because the black-and-gold Saints are absolutely dominating the football field. Basketball season also gets New Orleans residents all kinds of excited, and this year the New Orleans Hornets are all the buzz, ready to sting their way to the top of the Western Conference's Southwest Division.

A must-see game this winter is the Dec. 23 New Orleans Hornets game against the Golden State Warriors, as the Hornets are out for blood after falling to the Warriors 126-92 in New Orleans' next-to-last preseason game in October. Can Chris Paul lead his Hornets past Monta Ellis and the Warriors in a regular season melee that's sure to be one for the books? It's all to come this winter at the New Orleans Arena, and tickets are still available to see both teams in action as the meet on the basketball court!

Sports fans across the country covet the winter months because of the overlap of NFL and NBA seasons, but there's one more reason to celebrate the upcoming holiday months: college bowl games. Bowl games are the perfect excuse for football fans old and young to come together for the grand finale of college football season, and the annual Independence Bowl is one of the better bowls, also an annual Louisiana delight.

Some of the NCAA's best Division I football teams have faced off at Shreveport's Independence Stadium to compete for the title of Independence Bowl champion, and this year is expected to draw huge crowds, as well, as both the Big 12 Conference and SEC are looking to send some powerhouse teams to the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl this winter. College teams are looking to get revenge on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, who captured the title in 2008, and this year's I-Bowl will take place on Dec. 28, so clear your calendars and get tickets to one of the most action-packed bowls of all!
