Nfl Tickets- Colts Make Dramatic Personnel Changes

After the 2011 NFL season, the sound of Indianapolis Colts fans crying could be heard for miles

. The team built a legend around the 14-year tenure of Peyton Manning. They suddenly became a team on the outs when the quarterback was forced to sit out the whole season because of ongoing health problems and surgeries. As those who bought Colts NFL tickets saw, the coaching staff didn't have much of a backup plan for Peyton, and the season was not exactly one for the ages.

Without their star QB, the Colts served up a horrible record. Here are just a few of the worst highlights:

- 71.2% pass completion by opposing teams

- A drop from 4th to 30th in the league in yards gained and from 1st to 27th in passing yards gained

- The worst loss of the 2011 season, their week seven 62-7 debacle against the New Orleans Saints

- A 2-14 season record, last place in the NFL

Considering the fact that their previous season had been a respectable 10-6 as well as their ninth playoff appearance in a row, fans of many different teams were shocked to see how far the Colts fell in just a single year.

Something clearly had to be done. In the NFL, life moves fast even off the field, and long-time Colts owner Jim Irsay did not delay action. Irsay fired the team Vice Chairman and Vice President/General Manager only one day after the final game of 2011. The father and son team weren't the only ones to get pink slips either. Head Coach Jim Caldwell, who had led the Colts to two previous playoffs, lost his job only two weeks later. Even Manning, who had been Indianapolis super star for more than ten years, got traded to the Broncos.

So who will help the Colts to victory now? It's unlikely that they'll ever match their records of the past few years, but they've got an improving roster nonetheless, with first overall draft pick Andrew Luck falling right into their laps.

New GM Ryan Grigson spent time scouting and playing himself before a career-ending back injury. New head coach Chuck Pagano put up a respectable record as the Ravens defensive coordinator during his time there. He helped Baltimore go from 21st to 4th in passing yards allowed and from 9th to 1st in passing touchdowns allowed. His ability to create a strong defense is most likely what won him the new position.

So what about the quarterback? Well Indianapolis management seems to think that if the formula works, it's worth another try. Although Manning's injuries put a halt to his playing power, their first draft pick choice of Andrew Luck might make up for the loss.

Luck, a two-year Heisman runner up, was hailed across the league as a beacon of hope for suffering teams. The fact that Luck also joins the Colts along with an old Stanford teammate, tight-end Coby Fleener, might help make up for some of the rookie lack of confidence he'll undoubtedly face at his big-league debut.

Hopefully the coaching changes will help the Colts regain some of their old fire. Their acquisition of a star QB shows that they're willing to groom a new centerpiece just like they did with Peyton Manning back in the day.
