Nfl Tickets - Seattle Is Most Surprising Team Of Week One

The NFL is off and running and we're already starting to see what teams have the talent to make some noise

. Here's a look at the biggest things that stood out from Week One in terms of the overall picture in the NFC.

The Seahawks clearly are ready to surprise some people:

For one, the final score against division rival San Francisco was on opening day was 31-6. While many seemed to hand the AFC West title to the 49ers and many others assumed that the Seahawks were going to be scraping the barrel, that certainly didn't play out in Week One. With a seemingly healthy Matt Hasselbeck under center, the Seahawks moved the ball well and suffocated Alex Smith, who didn't look like the quarterback 49ers fans were hoping they would see in 2010.

The nice thing for the Seahawks is that there's no reason to think they can't compete if they can protect Hasselbeck. The other quarterbacks in the division are fairly suspect and Hasselbeck represents the only established signal caller in the AFC West, even if he doesn't have a name that directly sells a ton of NFL tickets. Even if the Seahawks aren't flashy, they have it where it counts and could win enough games to hang around if no other team in the AFC West steps up to snag the division.

Don't sleep on the Giants:

Quarterback Eli Manning's stats didn't look impressive but the Giants showed a lot of heart coming back from some early struggles to put the Panthers away fairly comfortably in Week One. Despite throwing three picks, Manning spread the ball around very nicely and six receivers caught at least two balls. The Giants still want to run the ball a little better than they did, but they ran it effectively enough to open up the passing game. We won't know too much about the long term success of the Giants until they play a few of the better teams in the NFC, but the ability to make adjustments at halftime and put away a weaker team was impressive. You have to win the games you're supposed to. So far so good for the Giants.

The Packers are still elite, even if they didn't show it Week One:

You know a team has some upside when they beat a tough conference opponent by seven on the road and nobody seems to even care. The Packers' impressive 27-20 win over the Eagles didn't show off their high-flying offense the way that most anticipated, but it's still a nice conference road win to start the season while many of the other premiere NFC teams struggled.

Looking at the rest of the conference, the win only looks more impressive. The Falcons couldn't beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh with Ben Roethlisberger riding the pine. The Cowboys couldn't take care of the Redskins in Washington despite holding the 'Skins' offense to just six points. The 49ers got blown out by the Seahawks just a few days after Seattle cut their best receiver, T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

In the Packers game, their defense got to Kevin Kolb and Rodgers came back strong after an early interception got them in a hole. Even if backup Eagles QB Michael Vick made it interesting, the game was largely over when the Packers got out to a 20-3 lead. You're supposed to beat teams against that play their backup quarterbacks and the Packers made sure they got the job done in Week One. And if they can win against a talented opponent while Rodgers has a fairly forgettable game, the Packers should still be one of the elite teams in the NFL.

The Vikings are going to be fine:

After their opening night loss to the Saints, it could be easy to criticize Brett Favre, who looked less than spectacular for much of the game. Despite a quick strike before the end of the first half, Favre largely looked out of sync - and they still only lost by five points on the road to the defending Super Bowl champions. If anything, keeping it close without their number one wideout and a quarterback not playing up to his potential suggests that the Vikings do actually have enough talent to once again challenge for the conference. Don't be surprised if the Vikings get on a hot streak and finish as one of the NFC's best teams.
