Nfl Tickets - Week 4 Fantasy Pickups
Here are some players to consider adding to your fantasy football roster if they're available in your league.
Glen Coffee, Running Back, San Francisco 49ers: With Frank Gore sidelined, potentially for a few weeks, Coffee will be the man getting the ball on the ground for the Niners. He impressed in preseason with his hard running style and could be a nice play for the next few weeks. Don't be miffed by his performance against the vaunted Minnesota run defense; he should have much more success against St. Louis and Atlanta. The Niners are committed to running the ball and Coffee could even work his way into carries on a regular basis with some big performances while Gore is out. At the very least, he's a temporary starter.
Fred Taylor, Running Back, New England Patriots: Laurence Maroney, Taylor's main competition for carries in New England, left last week's game with an injury, something that seems to occur with Maroney all too often. Should Maroney miss any extended time, Taylor will receive the lion's share of the carries for the Pats and could be a solid play. He eclipsed 100 yards last week and scored.
Ricky Williams, Running Back, Miami Dolphins: Chad Pennington is likely out for the season, which means the Dolphins are probably going to run the ball even more than they already have been. That means more work for Williams, who gets his fair share of work despite Ronnie Brown's presence. The Dolphins will probably run a lot of the wildcat now as they ease Chad Henne in, which should result in an increased workload for both backs.
Steve Smith, Wide Receiver, New York Giants: He should be universally owned, but it looks like a lot of people have either not been taking the Giants' passing attack seriously or got caught up in the Mario Manningham craze last week. Smith is clearly Eli Manning's favorite target and will be good in any format, but especially valuable in PPR leagues. He seems to be a bit more than just a possession receiver and is having a breakout campaign. I don't expect him to slow down either.
Nate Burleson, Wide Receiver, Seattle Seahawks: Burleson is showing that he could be the best Seattle wide receiver. T.J. Houshmandzadeh has not done much in his first season with the team and Burleson has the vertical speed to be a real threat in this offense. He's always been a good receiver, but he's healthy now and could be in line for a big season. He's worth the pickup if you need receiver help, as he's had big games with both Matt Hasselbeck and Seneca Wallace at the helm of the offense.
Vernon Davis, Tight End, San Francisco 49ers: Davis has all the talent in the world, but his lack of focus has hindered him throughout his career to this point. Head coach Mike Singletary could be knocking some sense into this supreme athlete, though, as Davis looks like he'll be more consistent this season. He had a big game last week, scoring twice, and seems a natural target for the conservative Shaun Hill.
