Nfl Tickets - Week 9 Power Rankings

Here are the top 10 teams in the NFL as I see them at Week 9 of the 2009 NFL season

, listed in order.

Indianapolis Colts: I'm tempted to anoint the Saints as the top team in the NFL, but I was impressed by the Colts' gritty win against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8. The team won despite Peyton Manning failing to throw a touchdown pass, though he did amass more than 300 yards through the air. It was nice to see the Colts able to pull out a win where they weren't killing the opposition at halftime. In fact, the Niners were leading at the half.

New Orleans Saints: The Saints could very well be the best team in the league and an Indianapolis-New Orleans Super Bowl seems like the most likely scenario at this point. Despite Drew Brees' greatness, the key to the Saints' success this season has been their running game and defense. Brees was throwing for a ton of yards last season, but the lack of a strong running game and the play of a then-weak defense resulted in the team missing the playoffs. This team definitely has what it takes to go all the way.

Minnesota Vikings: Brett Favre absolutely torched the Green Bay Packers in his return to Lambeau Field, throwing for four touchdowns in a Minnesota victory. Favre has taken this team to a level that every Vikings fan had hoped for when it was announced that he'd been joining the team this season. Favre has a capable group of receivers at this disposal in Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, and Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the league. The defense has been solid, but not great.

New England Patriots: The Patriots are back. They could very well represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this season. They seem to be improving every week, and this team is really starting to look like the squad we remember before Tom Brady got injured. If the defense can hold up, they'll be a dangerous team.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos were handed their first loss in Week 8, but it's not time to push the panic button. I don't think they were as good as their 6-0 record suggested, but this is a quality team that is learning how to win, especially in close games.

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers hit a rough patch this season, but have since bounced back and are looking strong once again. The emergence of Rashard Mendenhall has really helped to get the running game going and the defense is always there.

Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals are keeping up the solid play despite experiencing some major injuries. Cedric Benson has been incredible this season and Carson Palmer seems to be getting more and more comfortable as the season progresses.

Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys are looking strong. Their offense is again looking like one that can sell a lot of NFL tickets now that all of their running backs are healthy and with the emergence of Miles Austin.

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens were better than their 3-3 record and they proved it by handing Denver their first loss.

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles need to be more consistent, but when they're on they can play with any team in the league.
