Nissan the auto giant and magnanimous educational institute IIT Madras (IIT-M) have signed on two MoUs for an educational venture. The educational institution will have an extensive research cooperation from the company which will support the upcoming engineers. These engineer students will inscript advanced technologies for future and enhance the automobile growth. The Nissan Science Foundation will keep a vigilant eye on the talented students at the prestigious institute. Through the MoU that is valid till the year 2015, Nissan will be nurturing the students and also will greatly contribute in the research. Training programs will be held at the Nissan headquaters in Japan and internship in RNTBCI. Tthe NSF has for the first time come with this concept and will provide financial help. MoU from Nissan's R&D Centre in India The second MoU is named "Nissan Support Program" in contribution with Nissan's R&D Centre in India (RNTBCI) is up till March 2013. This project will look after the research and development in the Automobile field, Science, Engineering, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management. The Nissan Support Program will fund four to five projects every year after an extensive review by Nissan experts and IIT M educators. The program will invite project proposals from the IIT Madras facility. A big step in the research for the Automobile sector, this day was celebrated as 'Nissan Day' at IIT Madras. Students, Management and Facility participated in the event, where Technology Exhibition showcased which is carrying at Nissan. In the exhibition, various engineer works and new innovations were on display. The all new Nissan Micra, was also featured in the exhibition at IIT M. Haruyoshi Kumura, Fellow of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd & Director of Nissan Foundation said that, the research is an extension of the ongoing collaboration with IIT M. Nissan is sure that the venture will be benefiting the automobile sector with new age technology coming in future. Hiroshi Nagaoka, Senior VP & Director RNTBCI was heard saying that, it is a proud moment to be associating with IIT-M. The initiative has been very overwhelming and they wish to benefit the automotive sector with the research programs. Delighted with the two MoUs, Dr Jon Kurian, Prof and Dean of the Centre for Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research (IC&SR), IIT M said that, Nissan has been associated to the institution from a long time. The 'Nissan Support Program' is a encouraging step towards research in among the young faculty members and is training them at the global platforms.
