You can apply for a $10K scholarship for free from Free College Scholarships. To qualify for this scholarship you only need to be at least 18 years old and live within the United States. The scholarship application is composed of a simple, one-page registration form that enters you into the drawing. Register early on the site so you will not miss the deadline for the drawing.

The Sam Walton Community Scholarship should be another scholarship you should look at to see if you qualify. If you qualify, you can get the $3,000 scholarship that they offer. The minimum ACT score is a 22 and proof of need of financial aid is also required.

There is one more scholarship program from the Alliance for Young Writers and Artists. You are eligible to apply for this scholarship if you attend the Lake Forest College in Illinois. To be eligible to apply, you need to submit a portfolio of your writing and the winner gets from $1000 to $5000 per acadmeic year.
