Covering - Hiding & Down Right Disguise
It doesn't matter the age of a home, or how expensive it may be as there is always at least one wall our area that could be considered odd. It may be where the builder messed up on a wall, or the framer forgot his level on a door frame, but there is always something that paint can cure. Splashing color on areas that need to be hidden or mistakes that need to be covered can actually lead the eye away and make them less noticeable. It doesn't have to be the old standby primary colors either; there are many different colors schemes that can be used to cover issues.
One example may be a baseboard or crown molding that is slightly off, which a mixture of the primaries paint and a slightly darker shade it can make it look like this area is perfectly straight. The darker area would be painted closer to the baseboard while the lighter paint would move up the wall to draw the eye away from the problem. Using other paining techniques or slightly different colors can correct almost any problem in a home, whether it is the patched hole in the wall or a crooked door frame.
