Nutrition - 4 Energy Boosting Foods For You To Try

If you are feeling tired all the time then this could be due to a number of factors

. It could involve a combination of an unhealthy diet and a lack of exercise. If you do regular exercise then it is probably to do with your diet and a lack of certain nutrients.

To help us increase and maintain our energy levels we need to introduce certain foods that can help us achieve that by increasing our metabolism. Many people who feel tired and listless all of the time are usually deficient in the nutrients that come from the Vitamin B Complex group. Lack of these nutrients effect the functioning of the adrenal glands which help to regulate the bodies energy levels.

If you are feeling tired all the time then consider introducing the following foods into your diet to help boost your energy levels.

Grains

As well as a good source of fibre grains provide the body with a balanced level of energy that is slowly released throughout the day. This has a stark comparison with foods high in sugar that send your energy levels shooting up and then crashing down. Grains also contain vitamin B which supports the functions of the spleen.

Oats

Oats taste delicious and are a very good energy food. The nutrients contained within oats help to regulate and balance your blood glucose levels. Oats provide a slow release of energy that will sustain you for most of the day. Porridge oats is a great dish to eat first thing in the morning as that will help you keep alert and focused until lunch time.

Green Vegetables

Green leafy vegetables provide a good source of the B complex vitamins to help boost your energy levels. They are also rich in minerals nutrients such as iron and magnesium. Broccoli is great super food for energy. It contains anti-oxidants and Co-enzyme Q10 which is a powerful nutrient for converting food into energy. To get the most out the nutrients it is better to eat these raw as in a salad. If you are unable to eat them raw then light steam the vegetables for 2 to 3 minutes.

Seeds

Seeds are one of the most natural and nutritious foods you can eat. They are a rich source of essential fatty acids that include omega 3 and omega 6. These fatty acids assist the body with energy production. Seeds also contain energy boosting minerals such as copper, iron and magnesium.

If you have a health condition or food allergy then consult with your doctor before changing your diet.
