Stall (Tactic) Letter - a letter simply used by the credit bureau to buy them some time as they verify with the creditor the item(s) in question or something just to keep you off their back.
You should be aware of the stall tactics some credit bureaus use. Below are some of these examples which when encountered by some, leave them discouraged, eventually giving up on the process.
Additional info - a letter asking for additional information which is usually done by the bureaus in response to your inquiry about a certain item. Ignore this and just demand that the item be removed.
Frivolous Letter - the Fair Credit Reporting Act contains a clause that allows different bureaus to disregard frivolous or trivial attempts. This usually happens when you demand too many negative items at one time. But most of the time, it is something they use just to ignore you.
Credit Restoration Services - You are asked in this letter if you're making use of a credit repair service. Whatever it is that they claim or state, you must always remember that credit restoration services are lawful.
