One Technique In Positive Psychology
Today I have learnt one technique in positive psychology in dealing with emotions!
it alters people in thinking more positively and feel more happier in about 15 minutes. I would like to share it if you are interested to know this method.
If you want to know what is positive psychology, you may get some concepts by visiting Wikipedia . So now let me go straight to the technique.
Some emotions such as Stress, Unhappy, Sadness can weaken our immune system bringing us some healthy problems. I think no one will object that get rid of such emotions is essential.
Positive Emotion Story Telling
The method is simple but proved to be very efficient if you sincerely follow the instructions (I do not exaggerate it, and there is nothing to exaggerate!).
First, find a piece of paper.
Then, write for 15 minutes about the intense thoughts and feelings associated with the pleasant or joyful experience occurred recently in a free-flowing manner with no regard for punctuation, grammar, or sentence structure. (can be point form or any manner you like)
Note: During the 15 minutes writing, you write down anything and ideas that bombard your mind which may be directly or indirectly related to the pleasant or joyful experience.
My Example
This is a quick description on how I use this method today.
I remember recently one thing let me feel happy is I successfully change my timetable in this new academic year (you may think is minor but it gives me intense feeling). Then during 15 minutes, I write down anything that come out of my mind. For example, I write down that I can wake up later, no need to hurry in eating breakfast, sitting at the sofa relaxingly watching morning News, go to college in 9:30 am, can sleep more means more energetic in the daytime....you see there is no restriction. You can write down anything during the 15 minutes.
This method "Positive Emotion Story Telling" aims to let you forget about the negative feeling but focus on and enhance the pleasant experience you have. When you are thinking all the things that give you pleasant and joyful feeling, you will see things all in positive way.
