Online Business Need To Exercise Caution With Web Development Companies

Business owners requiring a new website should run criminal background checks prior to hiring. The background check should include credit checks, criminal records of the web development firm ownership, outstanding legal judgments, and tax liens. A firm named Connective Websites was entirely unacceptable in its responsiveness and product delivery to an online art gallery that I own named Medici Galleries.

Connective Websites advertised in 2009 in the New York Times. The client portfolio displayed on their website includes Donald Trump, Barrett Vantage Artists, and the Gersh Group. Do not assume that a firm having influential clients will do a good job or has a willingness to work hard. There may be little or no correlation between their past work and their current work. Let my bad experience spare you the problems and financial harm associated with a web development firm that does not honor its commitments.

I received a notice from Connective Websites agreeing to deliver my ecommerce website with a shopping cart accommodating 40 to 50 items within two weeks. I received confirmation of payment from their firm three days later. Medici Galleries provided the content for the entire website emailing documents and digital images which were incorporated into the web pages for review with the exception of the shopping cart. I received a notice from Connective Websites to approve the final website layout. It was complete except for the shopping cart. I received another email from Helaine Rose explaining that completion of the site is almost effortless and PayPal would be used with the shopping cart. I received an email from Connective Websites directing me to view my website under their web address as a client on almost two weeks after the agreed to timetable. Soon the man I worked with was no longer with the company, Helaine Rose assured that the website would be delivered. Approximately one year later, I have never received my website.

Connective Websites has never delivered the work product. It has never provided an explanation of why they take money, make agreements, and fail to deliver the website. I have spoken several times with the firm about their failure to deliver this website. A New York reporter set up an online contact request for parties experiencing problems with Helaine Rose or the firm. At the time of the investigation by the reporter earlier this year, there was a judgment for thousands of dollars in the State of New York against this firm. I responded to the reporter and left my email address and information. I was never contacted.

Helaine Rose can be found on Linked In. Connective Websites remains in business. Let the buyer beware. Do not let a web developer steal your time and money.
