Online Business Tips: The Power Of Having An Action Plan

, you'll know how many times I tell my readers about why they need to establish an action plan. It's essential to business success to take action and having a plan can be very effective.

The thing is, not everybody knows why type of action they should take and where and how.

My first few months with an online business were spent understanding trying to understand how Squidoo could help me. Why should I try article marketing to get my business out there? The answers to all these questions had to be found. I discovered how to research a market, a keyword and the competition.

At times I wanted to give up. It was such slow going and very frustrating. I didn't know what I was meant to be achieving or when I might get to my unknown destination. I knew that I had to sell something, but I didn't know how.

I didn't have an action plan, I just had frustration, desperation and stress!

After a while, I ended up hanging around sites that promised me fast riches. You know them, the sites where the guy is riding in a Lamborghini with a very attractive young lady with him. It didn't take me long to realize that there are no quick ways to make money online. All of them take time and effort.

I decided one day to take a break. I thought about my goals. I thought about what I had learned so far and what I could or should be doing with that.

Once I figured out how to create an action plan, to my amazement at the time, it worked. The good thing is - is that it didn't cost me anything either. I didn't have to have money to get started. Once I started generating money then I could reinvest and build my business.

So what action plan would I suggest to newbies?

Learn. The first thing that a newbie should be doing is reading, watching and learning. At the beginning it was all about reading and hardly any doing. There is so much to learn about when it comes to keywords, the market, the competition and all the different ways of online marketing. Learn the pieces of the puzzle and then you will figure out how to put them together for your online business.

Piece the puzzle together. Many budding internet marketers decide that they have had enough at this point. It all seems very difficult to put together into a shape that will work and earn them money. There's too much effort and sometimes even money going in but no money coming out.

Develop your own websites. You don't have to be an expert in HTML to do this, you can do it with the use of a simple Wordpress site. You won't have to add all your marketing material to sites that you don't have complete control over.

Get traffic. Traffic can be free from adding links, commenting on blog posts and forums or you can pay for it. Personally, I prefer to build as much traffic as I can for no cost.

Setting up an online business can be a lot of fun as there is so much to learn. It can also be a good source of income and very fulfilling.
