Our Decision to Sell Car Tyres
Ever since I was a little boy I have been fascinated with cars. My father is a mechanic and owned his own car garage in our local town. When I was growing up I remember business being good for my dad, my father was good with cars and people trusted him. I spent weekend and every summer holiday learning from my dad at the garage it was just a natural thing that I went to collage to study mechanics when I finished school, and I have never looked back.
My father took me on at the garage with him while I worked alongside my college course. Two years after qualifying and proving myself to my father he gave me 40% of his business. We have been working together for 15years now. I could see the threat that the large car company garages had on us; I knew we had to start offering other services so I suggested that we start offering a service fitting tires. I looked into it and we decided we would do it. I didn't realise that there was such a large range of tires out there. We decided to stock the three main types of tires, which are summer tires, winter tires and all season tires. Of course, we would have to have them in a range of sizes as well and if we didn't stock the tire that the customer needed, I would order it on next day delivery from our supplier.
I had to learn all the properties of the tires we were going to stock, as I wanted to be able to give our customers the best advice. When a customer is unsure about what tire to buy I try to tell them all the important information but without overloading them. I explain to them that summer tires are great for driving and braking performances on dry and wet roads but do not perform as well in icy conditions. They have a simple tread pattern to them, which remains as rigid as possible ensuring maximum grip at all times. The best time to fit these tires to a car is between the months of April to October. Winter tires are perfect for conditions such as icy roads, frost slush and wet roads. These tires do have a longer braking time on dry roads but it is shorter than the braking time summer tires have on icy roads. The best time to fit a set of these tires to your car is between October and April. My personal favourite choice of tire is the all season one. I think that they are perfect for the British weather; they perform well on dry and wet roads and also in wintery conditions. The tread pattern on all season tires provides well all round traction.
Not all customer like all season tires so if they choose a set of the other tires then our garage offer to store the set that they are not using until we fit them the next time. This takes the inconvenience out of looking for a place to store their spare set of tires as not everybody has a garage that they can store them in. I think that offering a service like this makes us different from the other garages around.
From my Norwegian colleagues I learned that the term for buying SUV tyres iskjpe SUV dekk and here aremore reviews of car tyres by manufacturer.
