Family time: An outdoor patio fire pit can act as a focal point for family time outside

. There is nothing better than a cool fall evening spent outdoors. Get a fire going outside and it will attract the whole family, guaranteed. Mom and Dad will be happy with the family getting together. The kids will be excited for they know what will come later, maybe a weenie roast or even a smore or two. Grandparents will also want to be included, there is not a better place to sit around and tell the grandkids a story or two about the way it use to be in their day. Family time is precious and there is not enough of it these days. Light up a fire and enjoy.

Cooking: Purchased patio fire pits come with many ways to use them. When it comes to cooking, the possibilities are endless. Most will come with or have as an accessory, a grill. This means you can put on a pot to heat up something for dinner. Grill off some hamburgers or steaks, a medium rare rib eye for me please, or roast some corn on the cob. Use a rotisserie to do many different meals. Chicken, beef kabobs, lamb or fish will be great on the rotisserie. Also, when used for cooking you can vary the cooking element: meaning the charcoal or wood you want to use. Use varying types of wood for different smoke flavors. Oak is good or fruit wood gives off a wonderful aromatic smoke. Pecan is also a favorite. Even save some of the wood chips from the wood you are using and soak them in water, then add on top of the charcoal right when you start the steaks to infuse even more smoke flavor.

Entertaining: The patio firepit will, on its own, start the entertainment. Flames will attract a crowd anytime. What better way to get a neighborhood party going than a firepit. You do not need to be up in the mountains or at the beach to sit and enjoy the flames. People can get together for a few hours in the middle of the week. No need to pack up and leave town. The onetime cost saving of the gas for a drive out of town for the same experience could make a big dent into the cost of a patio fire pit.

Patio fire pits can add an element of surprise to the family home in a positive way. Time together with family and friends can only be seen as an encouraging thing to happen. Always remember to use safety and caution when children are around.
