Practice in situations off of a plane first and when you are ready, start with the shortest flight possible on the biggest plane possible. Overcoming your fear to fly should not be like pulling off a bandaid, you don't want to tackle something too large that will sabotage your chances of ever feeling comfortable onboard an airplane.

2. Share and Accept Your Fear: This may sound weird, but instead of concealing your fear, you should share it with everyone around you. Tell the gate agent when you check-in, the flight attendant and the passengers around you.
