Overtraining Mistakes - 3 Important Tips To Avoid Overtraining

Are you working out but find that your muscles are weak

, you're getting sick all the time, and your energy levels have disappeared? If this is the case, you may be suffering from overtraining. This is bad news for your body, your health and if you continue going, you will only be sabotaging your efforts.

In this article I will be revealing three vitally important tips to help you avoid this horrible condition that can strike down anybody and at anytime. So if you want to learn how to end the nightmare of overtraining, then pay attention to every word contained in this article!

Tip One - Stop Training (Temporarily)

If you are suffering from any symptoms of overtraining, it's vitally important that you stop all training for a week or two. This may be difficult, especially if you have been diligently training for a large period of time but it's absolutely necessary. If you ignore this advice, you will continue on your journey down a slippery slope that could result in serious injury or illness.

So take a complete 1 - 2 week break from all physical activity. Relax during this week, eat healthy, and get plenty of rest. After this short break your body should be reinvigorated and you will be able to train again without suffering any negative consequences.

Tip Two - Don't Train Every Day

If you are lifting weights or doing strenuous workouts every day, you must stop this straight away. Your body needs time to rest, heal, and grow. If you keep pounding it with exercise every day, how do you think it's going to have the energy to recover?

Every time you exercise, damage is being done to your muscle tissue and if you keep on exercising it will never heal. Just like a scab that is picked will never heal, the same goes for your muscles. Get at least 1 - 2 days rest between workout sessions so that your body can recover properly.

Tip Three - Get Optimal Amounts Of Sleep

The bulk of the repair work that is done by the body happens at night when you are fast asleep. In fact it happens in a state called "delta sleep", which occurs when you are totally unconscious and you're not dreaming. If you fail to get at least eight hours sleep each night, then your body can fail to recover from your workout sessions. The end result is overtraining rearing its ugly head!

So always make sure you are getting an adequate amount of sleep each night, especially on the days you workout. You may even find out that you require more than the standard eight hours of sleep a night.

The three tips that you have just learned about are simple but they are very effective at stopping overtraining by helping your body to fully recover and become healthy again. Try them out and you will see for yourself how efficiently they will transform your body and put a stop to overtraining in just a short period of time.
