Palm Beach New And Used Car Buyers Help Toyota Sales Increase In The Month Of June
Toyota has done it again! Another month of sales increases on the heels of its recall issues and being slandered by the press
. Apparently the American public is smarter than the media allows us to believe and we can make up our own minds about what constitutes a quality product. Palm Beach used car customers will be glad to know that their choice of vehicle is selling well.
Toyota Motor Sales reported that its June sales totaled 140,604 units. This was an increase of 6.8 percent over June 2009. The Toyota Division had June sales of 123,272 units and the Lexus Division reported 17,332 units. Lake Worth used car dealers were pleased with these numbers overall.
In fact, Toyota has been going strong for several months, with its total sales for the first half of 2010 at 846,542, up 10.6 percent from the same period in 2009. This is an amazing accomplishment considering that Toyota recalled millions of vehicles in at the end of 2009 through the first quarter of 2010. Their pledge to satisfy customers and fix their problems must have been believed. They do seem to be living up to it.
"Toyota performed well during the first half of the year, despite a difficult economic environment," said Jim Lentz, president and chief operating officer of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. "Although the entire automotive industry struggled in June as weakening consumer confidence weighed on sales, Toyota maintains its leadership position as the number one retail brand in the industry year-to-date."
Although overall sales were up, passenger car sales were actually lower this June than last. Camry and Camry Hybrid sales were up 7.7 percent over last year. Corolla was up 9.7 percent and the Prius mid-sized electric hybrid has sales of 10,998. The new Avalon sedan was up a whopping 32.8 percent over June 2009. Palm Beach used car dealers are glad to see these numbers climbing.
The Toyota light truck division had sales of 49,461 in June, an increase of 25.9 percent over last June. Led by the RAV4 SUV up 25.1 percent from last year, the Toyota truck division has made some real inroads in the market. Tundra full-sized pickup was up 48.8 percent from last year. The Sienna mini van reported an increase of 71.9 percent over June 2009.
Toyotas premium brand, Lexus was down 6.6 percent from June 2009. Lexus light trucks were up, however with 9,183 united and a 12.7 percent increase. The Lexus GX luxury SUV had an astounding gain of 111.7 over last June.
Lake Worth used car customers can be confident that Toyota will back up what they sell and do all they can to ensure customer satisfaction.
