Kamlabai stays in the outskirts of Delhi on the Delhi Haryana border. Her husband Mehrchand, works in Delhi and commutes from Haryana to Delhi everyday. Kamlabai and Mehrchand have a son due to enter into class first. There were hardly any play schools in the region so Kamlabai put her son into the anaganwadi close to her house. Her husband tells her of the better choice of schools available in Delhi. They are aware that the child has not learnt very much in the anganwadi but their hopes are not set on big schools but on small government schools which are at least better than studying in the anganwadi. Mr. Mehrchand wants his son to become a doctor and come back to the village. He knows he won't be able to help his son very much when it comes to studying but wants him to study in an English medium school no matter how small it is. Likewise, Mr. Srinivas filled up the forms for a school in Chennai but with Mr. Srinivas's bank transfer orders, the family will soon be travelling to Pune. But Mr. Srinivas doesn't relish the idea of his son studying in class 9 to join a school in Pune. He feels the life in a metropolitan city is different and the exposure to a mixed culture will make him more broad minded. He wants his son to join a residential school in Mumbai and come home for the weekends. A number of parent's across the country are beginning to see the importance of being in a metropolitan and sending their children to schools in metro cities.
