Passion Play: A movie that is worth a watch

The first project of Rebecca Wang Entertainment Passion Play is a romantic drama starring Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox and Bill Murray. This eccentric and lyrical love story produced by Rebecca Wang blends oldfashioned romanticism with the fantasy of a fairy tale.

Mickey Rourke plays the part of a down and out trumpet player named Nate who's softly-burning passion simmers between him and an Angel (Megan Fox). The vulnerable Megan Fox showcases her talent with elegance. Then there is Bill Murray, whose role is to act as cold water whenever the heat blows among the two lovers.

The story starts when a small time Jazz musician (Mickey Rourke) is taken off into the desert where his attacker puts a gun to his head. With the backdrop of the vast southwest desert he finds himself drawn to the unusual beauty of Lily (Megan Fox), the Bird Woman.

Lily is portrayed as a dismissive and cold character in the Passion Play movie who does not socialize with her customers, but it dawns on her that this gentle giant may well be her way out of a life of unconventional exhibition. Nate is caring and sympathetic, and to him her curved beauty is the most mesmerising part of her individuality. As their connection strengthens, Nate finds that his dreams are about to be broken by Happy Shannon (Bill Murray), a cool businessman.

Along with a remarkable cast and amazing performances, the Passion Play film is filled with surprises and shows that one can find beauty and magic in the oddest places. The movie is balanced with tough-guy moments and rocky romance with an artistic touch and feel. The Passion Play movie makes a vigorous and enriching display with all of the spirited colour of the circus.
