Past Lives Reincarnation Regression For Beginners
Past Lives Reincarnation Regression For Beginners
The theory of past life regression is bases on the hindu philosophy of karma(deeds) and Athma(Soul).
With this, the soul goes through past lives reincarnation and other births, because it is indestructible and cannot be destroyed. Instead, it only changes form from one life to the next, much as you might change outfits once one has outlived its usefulness.
This is a very different philosophy from that of Christian theory of reincarnation, which focuses on the resurrection of Christ.
The Hindus state that the soul can inhabit any form, man, woman or animal. The deeds or karma of a human being in one life dictate what's going to be his or her life in the next.
There are several scriptures in the Hindu religion that talk extensively about past lives reincarnation; most notably among them is the Bhrigu Sanhita which apparently had an account of the past and future births of all living souls; however, the scripture was lost over the centuries.
Dr. Ian Stevenson has the most compelling modern day account of rebirth, as represented in the data he collected. Modern science still pooh-poohs rebirth as a legitimate claim, so it can't be stated that this is the most noted source of scientific information on past lives reincarnation as a theory. However, it's the most famous and is extremely well documented because Dr. Stevenson was a psychiatrist and had a degree in medicine.
Dr. Stevenson didn't put his patients under trance or induce hypnosis, as many past life regression therapists now do. Instead, he simply talked to children who had spontaneous recollections of incidents that had happened in their past lives.
Among the most famous and puzzling of these cases was that of a small boy, six years old, who came from a small village in Punjab. The little boy claimed that he had been a man named Satnam Singh in a past life.
The man came from a village that the boy named as Chakkchela; the boy claimed to have lived there as Satnam Singh, even though he actually had not been there himself. Additionally, the boy could describe Chakkchela in minute detail.
Inspite of the family's efforts to stop him fom claiming he was Satnam, he went on doing it. He knew his father's name and he also revealed the fact that he had died in a motorcycle accident while he was returning home from his school.
Closer investigation found thatSatnam had indeed died in this manner. The boy was also able to reveal personal information about the family, but the "clincher" was that when the child's and the man's handwriting samples were compared, they were identical.
Another instance from stevenson's documents include the claim of Swarnalata, a 3 year old girl who said she was a young woman named Biya pathak in her past life.
The young child described the house that she lived in her past and took her father to the property when they were traveling back from the railway station in their town. The child continuously suggested that she had lived in that particular area. Also she told that they could get a better cup of tea in her house than on the road.
The "clincher" in this case happened when the little girl recognized the young woman's brother and addressed him by a pet name, from a group of people numbering nine.
Stevenson's files listed dozens of these types of cases. Further, Stevenson states that when injury happens in one life, it can manifest in the next as a birthmark in the same location as the injury.
A man from Thailand seemed to illustrate this; he recollected that he was his own deceased maternal uncle, reincarnated. And indeed, this man had a scar on his head that was located in the exact same place as a knife wound his uncle had died from.
Yet another case was that of a boy who remembered himself as a man named MahaRam in his past life. Being shot at very close range killed this man, and the boy indeed had several birthmarks that looked like scars from gunshot wounds on his chest.
Many psychiatrists, including Dr. Brian Weiss, the father of modern past life regression, as well as several other prominent authorities on psychiatry and psychology, believe there may be such a thing as rebirth; however, science is still mostly skeptical about it.
It should be noted, however, that if people undergo past lives regression therapy, they can often rid themselves of phobias and fears in just a few sessions.
