Petite summer dresses are the perfect way to look great and add a little bit of fun to your outfit. A petite woman can be defined as someone who's height is 5'4" or less. This article discusses tips a petite woman should follow when selecting a summer dress. Let's discuss these tips below:

It is common knowledge that black clothing makes a person look slimmer. However, the color black is one of the worst colors a woman can choose during the summer. Rules Regarding Stripes

A petite woman can definitely wear a dress with stripes; however, the stripes should always be vertical like pinstripes. Always stay away from stripes that are horizontal as this will not look good on a petite woman. Horizontal stripes have the affect of making a petite woman look shorter. If you are bored of vertical stripes, you can always go for a dress that has stripes that are almost vertical (i.e. diagonal, or "V" shaped). These styles still look quite amazing on a petite woman.

Reveal Some Skin

When you select a dress, you should pick one that reveals some skin. There are two benefits to this concept. First, it will help you stay cool in the hot summer season. Secondly, it will help you look slimmer.

Note, when selecting petite summer dresses that reveal skin, ensure that the fit is correct. The worst thing you can do is wear a dress that is just too tight as it will only look as if you have squeezed yourself into the dress. If you would like to show off some curves, just choose a dress that gently skims over your body. Cotton or nylon blends seem to work best.
