Philanthropy Is The New Way To Make Money
Holy leaders have been telling us for centuries that the way to self-fulfilment is to help others
. An increasing number of people who are trying to make money on the Internet are adopting this philanthropic approach.
Internet marketers, the self-proclaimed gurus, have been taking us for a ride since the inception of the Web. These people have been selling "Magic Bullets" for the past ten years. They sell us what we want, so we should blame ourselves as much as them. If 100 million people are willing to pay for a Magic Bullet that will solve all their problems at a stroke, there is a market for Magic Bullets and suppliers will appear.
Sadly, there are no magic bullets. Magic Bullet suppliers, gurus, keep selling the latest problem solving super-products to the same people, over and over again. They are selling dreams. The people who buy from one guru, then another and another must believe in dreams.
Scams are easily detectable by searching for the name of either the product or the 'guru' on any search engine. You will find forum posts that give you the low-down before you part with your money.
Gurus are not generally dishonest. People talk about gurus scamming, but they do nothing illegal, they just use psychology to persuade you to eventually buy their latest, expensive products. Their never-ending series of automated emails is irritating, but legal, so it should not really be called a scam.
What the 'guru' is selling is the product that he or she is using to make money. Having the product is only one tenth of the story though. You need to know how to use it, you need the contacts to sell it through and you need the guru's email list of people interested in Magic Bullets.
It's like selling a submarine to a child in Switzerland for $50. It is great value if the child knows what to do with it, if he has a harbor to put it in, if he has a dry-dock for repairing it, if he can get the crew and the fuel, otherwise the child has wasted $50.
If you are serious about making money online you must start by developing a group of loyal individuals who trust you. One way to build trust is by helping your group to reach their own goals, rather than by constantly trying to sell to them.
You need to help them to set goals in the first instance. You need to point them towards the best resources, without always sending them through your affiliate referral links. Set up a private forum, where they can help each other. Trust them to make posts without waiting for a moderator's approval.
In these days of social networking and blogs it is should be possible for any person with the right attitude to build up a group of loyal subscribers. Once you have your loyal group of subscribers you can then develop products for them that they are likely to want to buy. Hard selling and endless emails will not be necessary.
If you adopt this 'helping others succeed' approach then you will gain immense satisfaction, and make money along the way.
