Physical Therapy For Tennis Elbow- A Real Cure Or A Waste Of Money?
Physical Therapy For Tennis Elbow- A Real Cure Or A Waste Of Money
?
When you play tennis frequently you develop a condition called lateral epicondylitis but is better known as tennis elbow. You may have wondered what type of options that are available to eliminate this pain from enjoying your favorite sport. Some say that you will have to attend physical therapy for tennis elbow with frequent exercising to heal your sport injury. By doing this it greatly reduces the healing time by just exercising or going to therapy alone.
I used to play tennis on a regular basis and really enjoyed the sport. After some time I developed the dreaded tennis elbow problem. This created alot of problems with my day job and being able to do my daily functions. When I was not aware of what was causing this I just simply put my arm in an ace bandage sling and kept it like that for a few days.
After a week the pain did not go away and I decided it was best to go see a doctor to determine if I had pulled a muscle. After some time and a few visits it was determined that I should go see a physical therapist and see if he could address my issue.
I attended my initial visit and spent almost two hours of him trying a few methods. I still felt the same pain and even after a few days it did not go away. I decided to give it another go and went in for another visit. We spent almost the same amount of time again and it still did nothing to cure my tennis elbow pain.
He gave me a book dedicated to physical therapy for tennis elbow and applied some of the material that was in the book that day at no cost. I felt completely better and he was nice enough to let me keep the book since I play tennis a few times per week. A few months later my pain returned but thankfully I had the book and used the same method my therapist did and the pain went away the same day.
